    Description

    Job Description:
    Commodity Analysts work to generate commodity investment ideas based on fundamental research and data analysis. A successful analyst will see their ideas put into the trade book.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Generate investment ideas based on fundamental research and data analysis
    Create, develop, and expand analytics tools and processes
    Stay on top of market research and insights
    Model commodity data for specific markets and produce ad hoc analysis based on short and long-term market developments
    Evaluate and improve data quality received from a variety of sources
    Monitor and build Verus' supply and demand models


    Skills and Qualifications:
    Prior commodities experience, 4+ years. Agriculture a plus
    Master's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or other quantitative fields
    Highly motivated, self-driven, ability to multi-task
    Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
    Understanding of financial modeling, specifically using Excel, VBA, Python, and/or R
    Thrives in fast-paced constantly evolving environments
    Ability to form theses and conclusions from partial, incomplete, and disparate data
    Fluent in English
