Job Summary

This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

Core competencies include:
design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.

Qualifications:

HS Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in finishing concrete on Heavy Highway and bridge jobs.
Familiar with concrete surfaces, hand and power tools, bridge construction, and all other highway construction scopes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detailoriented

Essential Functions:

Supervises and directs labor crew carrying out various tasks including concrete work such as smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete (floors, walks, sidewalks, walls, footings, roads, or curbs); preparing materials, equipment and tools for optimal output.
Help with cleaning and preparing job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support form work, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and tear out concrete.
May assist in developing a weekly schedule and in carrying out sequence of activities for the concrete crews and finishing operations.
Maintains all records required concerning production, safety, attendance, time worked by crew members, personnel matters, etc.
Responsible for timely completion of work assignments while maintaining the company's reputation for quality workmanship/product.
Responsible for the safety of those on the crew and will conduct all operations according to all applicable company and government safety rules. Will develop and maintain a proper crew attitude by conducting weekly Planning Meetings and displaying a positive safety attitude toward all daily operation performed.

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions:

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level
Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift
Must be able to climb ladders.
Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands
Must have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
