    About the role

    The job holder ensures local support for the IT structures of the Smurfit Kappa locations in the area of responsibility, based on tickets from a service management tool.

    Other activities result from IT projects in a wide range of business applications as well as Infrastructure projects controlled by Global IS.

    In addition, the IT-Guidelines and IT-Standards must be taken into account in all activities.

    Your accountabilities


    Ticket system controlled support of the IT systems of Smurfit Kappa in the area of responsibility of Global IS - Service Excellence in Germany and Austria.


    Support for end users in the software and hardware area via remote support or on site based on support tickets.

    Implementation of on-site or remote IT activities resulting from Smurfit Kappa's global IT projects.

    Communicating and collaborating with external service providers to resolve incidents or activities arising from global IT projects.

    Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of IT company guidelines.

    Regular activities to ensure IT compliance status.

    Participation in regular IT meetings for knowledge exchange and task planning.

    Creation and updating of documentation on IT structures and IT processes in the area of activity.

    Implementation of tasks resulting from asset, user and compliance management in the area of activity.

    Role organisation and scope


    The role holder will report to the Service Desk Manager and will work closely with other Global IS colleagues to service impacting incidents and to fulfil requests.

    Knowledge of supported services and team responsibilities will be required to effectively manage escalations and re-assign incidents and requests for fastest resolution or fulfilment.

    Travel across local Smurfit Kappa sites will be required regularly for this role, including occasional overnight stays.

    Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

    Completed vocational training in the IT sector or career changer with relevant professional experience in the IT environment - ESSENTIAL

    IT support experience, preferably in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment - ESSENTIAL

    High degree of quality awareness, customer orientation as well as detail and solution-oriented working methods - ESSENTIAL

    Good knowledge of spoken and written German - ESSENTIAL

    Knowledge of spoken and written English - ESSENTIAL

    Driving license for cars - ESSENTIAL

    Quality and responsibility awareness - ESSENTIAL

    Strong customer orientation - ESSENTIAL

    Communications and Empathy - ESSENTIAL

    Ability to work in a team - ESSENTIAL

    Good to very good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 client operating systems and Microsoft 36- DESIRABLE

    Pronounced understanding of standardized IT structures, their opportunities and challenges - DESIRABLE
