Description
Field EngineerPOSITION SUMMARY:
Provide technical engineering support to project supervisors and craft workforce to ensure all construction complies with all appropriate standards, codes, and specifications.
The Field Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform survey layout for construction control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials
Maintain record drawings
Material takeoffs for self-perform work
Research drawing interpretations, problems, and errors
Verify that all completed work complies with drawing and specifications
Strong knowledge of the contract specifications, documents
Verify all survey monuments and markers
May provide subcontract coordination
Demonstrate commitment to an injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others
Other duties as assigned
JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:
Good time management skills and organizational skills
Ability to read drawings and specifications for all trades
Commitment to safety culture
Basic math/accounting skills
Functions effectively as part of a team
Dependability
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
Ability to understand and follow directions
Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
Ability to run a robotic total station with GPS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one to one basis
