Pay rate up to $17.63

Unit Clerk for The Wesley Community?**- Answer the telephone, page calls; deliver messages to residents, and nursing staff as necessary.


  • Record medical and administrative information in accordance with our established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
  • Complete forms and requisitions necessary for continuity of administrative records and resident's care.
  • Complete necessary medical and administrative records upon the resident's admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
  • Notify through established channels, the proper departments of resident's admission, discharge, and transfer.
  • Break down paper records and prepare to send out to storage upon notifying Nursing Admin Secretary.
  • Assist in arranging and making appointments for diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Keep nursing service personnel informed of residents' appointments.
  • Record appropriate resident identification data in EMR programs, wristbands, etc., as directed.
  • Scan records in EMR Program, Vision.
  • Deliver mail, flowers, etc. as necessary.
  • Direct visitors to resident rooms, office areas, etc. as necessary.
  • Keep office supplies at preestablished quota levels, replenishing on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in the orientation of newly assigned personnel as directed.
  • Work with the facility's consultants as necessary (ie. podiatrist, dentist, optometrist, hairdressers, etc.).
  • Assist the Charge/Staff Nurse in typing work assignments, schedules, etc. as required.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartment personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Inform nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
  • Greet newly admitted residents upon admission. Escort to room as necessary.
  • Ensure attending physicians have everything needed to complete sick and regular rounds.
  • Assist in the orientation of newly assigned personnel to your unit.
  • Attend inservice training programs as scheduled.
  • Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.

Unit Clerk Requirements**:


  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree/related coursework, _preferred_.
  • Must have experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous work experience in a health care facility, _preferred_.
  • Experience with EMR Program Vision, _preferred_.
