bjective of Position/ Job Summary:

The Shipping and Material Handling Clerk is responsible for preparing the finished product for shipment and loading trucks.


Essential Functions:


  • Verify that all cartons are labeled and information matches the packing list and bill of lading. Ensure pallet counts are accurately reporting any discrepancies.
  • Attach shipping labels and packing lists to outbound shipments according to the customer's specifications or best practices and segregate them by the freight company.
  • Pick items from shelves and complete orders.
  • Kitting packages as needed.
  • Wrap pallets.
  • Use a forklift to load trucks. Perform trailer inspections.
  • Greets delivery drivers and provides instruction. Responsible for unloading trucks as needed and performing accurate goods receipt.
  • After trailer inspection, properly load/ship the finished product using a forklift when necessary.
  • Provide Production Staff with raw materials as needed. Stage properly in 5S areas.
  • Ensuring pallets are stocked in designated areas for operator use.
  • Stage used pallets in the warehouse neat and orderly. Assist in loading the recycle pallet trailer.
  • Accurately bin transfer materials to racking, floor location, or machine location.
  • Assist with inventory cycle and end of year counts.
  • Back up to Shipping and Material Handling Lead.
  • As a secondary function, performs Production Technician responsibilities as needed

Competency or Position Requirements:


  • Operate within the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ensure a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
  • Ability to become forklift/powered industrial truck certified.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to perform the role with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
None.


Desired Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
  • 25 years of experience in Shipping, Receiving, or Supply driving

Pay:
From $19.21 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
