Job Summary
Position responsible for performing Electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, Holter scanning and Stress Testing according to physician orders.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
High school graduate or GED and Completion of the Basic Arrhythmia Course.


Licenses/Certifications:
Certified by the American Hospital Association in BCLS.


Experience / Knowledge / Skills:


  • Six (6) months of experience preferred performing Electrocardiograms (ECG), Holter monitoring, Holter scanning and related Cardiac Stress Testing procedures.

Principal Accountabilities:


  • Prepares patients for Electrocardiogram, Holter monitor, and/or Stress Test exams and explains procedure and ensures technical quality.
  • Can manage multipatient task list and prioritize appropriately.
  • Reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to the supervisor/manager.
  • Responds to all Code Blue calls as part of the resuscitation team per facility requirements. Prepares and presents ECG tracings to physicians for interpretation as per hospital process.
  • Review ECG tracing and alerts proper medical personnel of patients with serious arrhythmias.
  • Maintains safety, environmental, and infection control procedures for the department.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and escalates issues appropriately.
  • Serves as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities established by the department.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual & professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competencies; supports departmentbased goals which contribute to the success of the organization.
