The Director, WW Medical Oncology will provide scientific and medical leadership and support the Thoracic Cancers BoW.

He/she will be reporting to the WW Medical Oncology Thoracic/ H&N Cancers Lead and participate in the cross functional matrix teams to provide scientific and medical support on behalf of WW Medical as well as development and execution of the WW Medical Thoracic Cancers strategy (communication, publication, and IEP strategy).

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leadership responsibilities:

  • Represent Global Medical Affairs in cross functional teams/meetings, e.g. GPT
  • Work closely with global counterparts in different functions (marketing, market access, clinical development, scientific communications, etc.)
  • Align with the global medical matrix team on strategy and tactics
  • Develop and execute medical strategy for assigned product
  • Provide recommendations to guide decisions on Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISRs)
  • Work closely with other medical leads to ensure processes are consistent

Deliverable responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute on the Global Medical Plan and Launch Plan
  • Develop and update together with the cross functional team the integrated evidence plan (IEP)
  • Partner with Scientific Communications/Publications colleagues to develop publication strategy, gap analysis, key messages in coordination with the cross functional team and the medical matrix team
  • Ensure high quality scientific/clinical input and review of (as needed):
  • Abstracts, posters, manuscripts
  • Educational materials
  • ISR proposals and protocols
Scientific educational grant requests

  • Patient advocacy grant requests in collaboration with the Advocacy team, serving as matter of expert
  • Drive the planning and execution of Global Medical Affairs Sponsored Trials and early access programs
  • Track priority Medical Affairs tactics and performance to goals/budget
  • Provide digital innovation input into medical activities

Actively engage/interact with key stakeholders, including:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced medical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in life science with 710 years of experience in specific Oncology therapeutic area (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentations to large groups, facilitation of interactive discussions, and 1:1 with TLs
  • Matrix leadership of crossfunctional teams
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid experience in translating medical/clinical information into medical affairs strategies
  • Demonstrated customer focus orientation & credibility
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Possess experience creating and managing budgets
  • Regular travel will be required (approx. 2025%)
