- Perform specialized molecular analysis of varying complexity and on different platforms
- Control the operation of the analyzers, signaling of malfunctions, required maintenance, and the ability to assist in system troubleshooting
- Monitor the lab processes and the registration of data in the lab information management system (LIMS)
- Prepare the analysis, instrument devices, and the sample according to the procedure
- Accurately document the lab work performed
- Assist with data interpretation
- Adhere to laboratory's quality control policies (GCP, CAP/CLIA, ISO) and document all quality control activities accurately, systematically and with the ability to recognize outliers and correct them
- Manage inventory levels and supply ordering within the department
- Disposes of hazardous chemical wastes per regulatory guidelines
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university in the Biological Sciences, including but not limited to, Medical, Pharmaceutical or Biomedical laboratory technology, or Biochemistry
- 2 years of previous experience in a molecular testing laboratory
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and qPCR experience preferred
- Essential that the applicant possess a precise detail-orientated mind that can function in a team environment, as well as, independently of direct supervision
- Fluent with computer programs, such as, Word, Excel, and databases and are willing to acquire new skills
- Ability to express yourself fluently, orally and in writing, utilizing English
- Present with a flexible, enthusiastic attitude, and a decisive mind towards work

Summary
In this position you will be jointly responsible for the performance of molecular testing within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will perform molecular analyses utilizing the latest technologies, like Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
