    Join the HJF Team


    HJF is seeking a Research Coordinator II to support research studies focused on pain at the Uniformed Services University (USU) and Walter Reed National Military Center (WRNMMC).

    This position will be in support of the Defense & Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management (DVCIPM).

    The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine.

    We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike.

    Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners.

    HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

    Responsibilities


    • Responsible for assisting with protocols from sponsors (federal and non-federal) and completing actions for the protocol to receive final IRB Approval.
    • Screens patients for eligibility, determine commitment, and obtain informed consent. Educates patients about the research study, their roles and other vital information.
    • Adheres to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. Assures that protocol requirements are achieved within Good Clinical Practices.
    • Performs data entry in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. Maintains clear and accurate data collection records.
    • Maintain laboratory standards and inventories in accordance with Good Laboratory practices.
    • Coordinates protocol-specific training to study site staff and investigators. Ensures all human research protection (HRP) education is current, per study/project needs. Assists and leads in the drafting of standard operating procedures (SOPs), coordinating in-services with clinical and research staff and maintains training logs within the scope of research projects.
    • May assist with updating/maintaining regulatory requirements such as updated investigator CVs, changes in principal investigator, and maintains accurate, regulatory-compliant program/study binders.
    • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
    Qualifications

    Education and Experience


    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Minimum of 3-5years experience required.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    • Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred, but not required.
    • Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary for performing research tasks; ability to learn and become proficient in data acquisition and research responsibilities related to research protocols.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Data management, cleaning, and analytic experience highly desirable.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an active T3 clearance.
    Work Environment


    • This position will take place primarily in an office/laboratory setting.
    Physical Capabilities


    • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to walk with study subjects in a hospital environment, perhaps escorting to/from clinics to laboratory.
    Some HJF employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination or an approved religious or medical accommodation will be required.
