    Job Description:

    The Office Specialist, Cashier position is directly accountable to the Business Office Manager for the following duties and responsibilities:

    The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.
    • Collect payments and issue receipts of all funds received by the college. This function includes the collection of fees during registration and drop/add periods, as well as daily cash receipts processing.
    • Receipt payments received by mail in a timely manner.
    • Reconcile cash batch at end of workday and prepare bank deposit documents.
    • Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable in verifying daily reports, updating receivable/obligation cards and billing.
    • Respond to questions and inquiries from individuals at the Business Office counter and over the telephone.
    • As a part of the college's risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Cashier Supervisor or Business Office Manager.

    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one to three years relevant work experience required.
    • Associate's degree preferred.
    • Previous work experience with automated accounting systems including accounts receivable.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
    • General knowledge of office procedures.
    • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
