- 1 year experience in a mailroom operations facility or similar setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and general computer operation is required
- Working knowledge of a Mailroom environment is preferred
- Knowledge of disability management and awareness
- Knowledge of the Ability One federal law is preferred
- Handling classified packages and preparation knowledge
- Answering phones and greeting visitors knowledge
- Ability to operate X-Ray machine
- Experience with security regulations for mailroom work
- Receive, prepare, sort, and distribute mail according to Performance Work Statement (PWS)
- Operate mail metering equipment
- Prepare documents and keep records according to PWS
- Perform mailroom operations effectively, efficiently, and safely, complying with safety and security regulations
- Arrive on time and ready to work scheduled shifts
- Provide high-level customer service
- Perform mailroom operations as per PWS requirements and site-specific guidelines
- Interact, maintain open communication with supervisor/lead
- Support company vision, values, and quality program controls
- Adequate hearing required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems
- Independently mobile on all surfaces and situations
- Move safely in the work area
- Retrieve items from high and low areas
- Perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures
- Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day
- Ability to lift boxes and packages weighing up to 70 pounds
