As an Assistant Store Manager you will assist the Store Manager in general management duties and to share responsibility for the store operation and performance.

To coordinate and direct the overall operations of the store in absence of the Store Manager.

  • Full Time, On-Site Role
  • Location: Creek Court Plaza 725 8th St, Monroe, WI 53566

You will contribute by:


  • Observing and enforcing all store rules and company policies
  • Observing and enforcing all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining a neat, wellgroomed personal appearance at all times to set an example for others to follow; enforce company dress and grooming standards.
  • Actively supporting the Store Manager in the fulfillment of his/her responsibilities in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling store activities and operations.
  • Becoming familiar with and the ability to perform all functions of the Store Manager's position
  • Greeting customers and be alert and observant at all times
  • Ensuring that all staff members provide customers with prompt and courteous service and assistance
  • Handling customer complaints
  • Contributing to profitable operation of the store.
  • Observing strict confidentiality of company records and financial information and safeguard against unauthorized access to such information.
  • Ensuring that accurate records are maintained in tracking markups and markdowns, store transfers, inuse of merchandise, voids, refunds, and bad merchandise/spoilage writeoffs according to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that the product rotation procedures are rigidly observed and that merchandise and merchandising is of optimum freshness and quality to achieve maximum sales and profits.
  • Ensuring that store personnel keep refrigerated coolers and shelves fully stocked and faced to the maximum extent possible according to tag allocation and department standards.
  • Ensuring that all merchandise is properly priced and signed and that the prices of items in the previous week's ad or promotion have been restored to normal.
  • Assisting and ensuring that all displays are built for maximum sales and profits, are neat and colorful, include tiein merchandise when applicable, and are properly signed.
  • Assisting in controlling inventory levels to minimize overstocks and understocks to maximize sales, inventory turns, and returnoninvestment within established guidelines for the store.
  • Assisting in maintaining the building and equipment in maximum operational condition.
  • Implementing the highest standards in a housekeeping program that ensures a clean, safe store that is appealing to the eye and the store customers.
  • Ensuring that receiving area policies and procedures are complied with to provide effective protection of the company assets at all times.
  • Maintaining effective security standards and procedures for all areas within the store.
  • High school education with a college background preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the supermarket industry with successful participation in a management training program, or 5 years compiled with active participation in a concurrent management training program, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of all aspects of store management and operations.
  • Experience in handling personnel relations or human resource management, some academic exposure or background in this area also desirable but not required.
