Located in the heart of Los Angeles, our 886-bed nonprofit hospital is a Level I trauma center with a dedicated Pharmacy Department of over 450 professionals. They offer inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services, including two cancer centers, outpatient pharmacies, and care clinics.

The full-time Inpatient Floater Pharmacist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center oversees medication management activities, providing clinical and drug distribution services along with other assigned duties. This role involves a 10-hour shift with rotating days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

Pharm.D. degree or equivalent from an accredited US pharmacy school.
Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practical experience.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements:

Active pharmacist license in California.
BLS certification as per Pharmacy Policy and Procedure for C.P.R. and Code Blue.

Additional Qualifications:

Completion of PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or similar practical experience is preferred.
Thorough understanding of medical terminology related to drug use.
Good knowledge of common diseases and pathologies.
Ability to understand patient medical management plans.
Skills in applying pharmacology principles for drug selection in a clinical setting.
Aptitude for extracting and utilizing information for patient care.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Capability to teach and mentor in training programs.
Proficiency in preparing drugs for immediate administration.
Expertise in drug recommendation and monitoring.
Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
Flexibility and adaptability to changes.
Effective workflow prioritization.
Ability to evaluate medication regimens for patient needs.
Proficiency in pharmaceutical calculations, compounding, and pharmacokinetics.
Patient-centered communication abilities.
Computer skills essential for job functions.
Exceptions subject to approval by the Chief Pharmacy Officer.
