Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing, the RN Supervisor is responsible for the comprehensive nursing care of residents in the facility, and for the supervision and education of nursing personnel who provide care to the residents on their tour of duty.
Lunch and 15 minute breaks must be taken during medically and policy appropriate times, in coordination with the LVNs and the any supervisor's knowledge.
Breaks will not be denied without compensation (on duty meal break form must be filled out, or otherwise informed to payroll).

Essential Functions:
- Clinical
- Coordinates resident care management on assigned tour of duty.
- Accountable for the management, clinical care of residents including but not limited to:
- Ensures provision of quality nursing care in accordance with Federal, State, and Company requirements based acuity of residents
- Makes daily rounds to see all residents to ascertain condition and comfortFollows safety policies in performing nursing care.
- Performs resident assessments as condition warrants, i.e. developing, implementing, and evaluating plans of care to include, but not limited to recognition of spiritual, emotional, psychological, and functional factors
- Initiates procedures to protect resident from injury and infection
- Monitors nursing personnel compliance to nursing policies and procedures
- Initiates procedures to protect resident from injury and infection
- Safeguards the resident's privacy and property
- Coordinates the admission of new resident(s)
- Assesses and evaluates resident change of condition and instituting appropriate interventions
- Assists with resident diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and treatments
- Implements nursing intervention as indicated by the Resident's Plan of Care or as ordered by the physician
- Administrative
Assists Director of Nursing Services in developing, maintaining, and evaluating Nursing Services objectives including but not limited to:
- Supports the overall goals of the company and the facility
- Maintains acceptable standards of nursing practice
- Ensures the exchange of essential information necessary for the provision of quality resident care
- Maintains all documentation as required by Federal and State Regulations, and Company policy
- Monitors inventory of supplies, equipment and/or medications to meet resident needs
- Assists in the evaluation and development of nursing procedures
- Makes recommendations for more effective usage of labor hours
- Assists in orienting and educating of nursing personnelAttends required inservices and facility/department meetingsOther responsibilities as delegated by supervisor.
- Supervision
Responsible for supervision of nursing personnel performance during tour of duty
, including, but not limited to:
- Assigns staff to meet resident acre needs
- Reviews daily reports and resident assignments with Charge Nurses on their assigned stations
- Ensures that assignments are based on qualifications of each staff member
- Ensures that assignments are based on resident acuity
- Ensures that assignments are made taking into consideration
- Provides disciplinary counseling (verbal and written) to nursing personnel, as appropriate
- Evaluates nursing personnel job performance
- Participates in care plan meetings to identify resident needs, and develops plans to promote positive resident outcome
- Makes daily rounds and documenting problems identified with appropriate followup
- Provides input to nursing personnel and receiving feedback on assigned responsibilities
- Communicates with oncoming shift regarding resident care needs
