Description

We are a dynamic tax and accounting firm based in Salem, MA, seeking to expand our team with a multifaceted Office Manager who is also skilled in bookkeeping and payroll management.

This role is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of our office and ensuring accurate financial management for our clients.

This is not a remote position.


WORK SCHEDULE:
Part time - Monday through Thursday

9:00 to 4:30pm - 30 hrs per week


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily office operations and maintain an organized work environment.
  • Handle bookkeeping tasks including financial record maintenance, transaction entry, and account reconciliation using QuickBooks Pro and Online.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy of financial reports and compliance documents such as 1099s and 1096s.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support team members with various tasks as needed.

  • Proven experience in office management, bookkeeping, and payroll processing (5+ years).
  • Strong familiarity with QuickBooks Pro and Online; QuickBooks Certification is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with team members & clients as well as the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Techsavvy with proficiency in using modern software tools and platforms.
  • Possess superior time management, problem solving and multitasking abilities
  • Self motivated and focused individual able to work independently but also as a team player.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting (preferred)
  • QuickBooks Certified (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping Certificate
Experience

  • Office/Bookkeeping/Payroll: 5+ years recent experience (required)
  • QuickBooks Pro & Online: 5+ years recent experience (required)
Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with bookkeeping cleanups and managing multiple company QuickBooks accounts simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of ProSeries, Smart Vault, and QuickBooks bank feeds is advantageous.
