Description

The primary purpose of this position is to manage all day-to-day operations for GSEP staff, faculty, and students and support the GSEP Administration and Dean's Office.

The Operations Manager serves as the liaison between GSEP and internal and external constituents.

Additionally, the Operations Manager supervises the Office Coordinator and serves as backup coverage to the Office Coordinator, which includes front desk assistance, welcoming visitors, faculty, and staff, and maintaining the GSEP lobby.


Duties

  • Plan and execute faculty and staff meetings, special events, and projects.
  • Support departments with operational needs such as purchase orders, vendor communications, credit card allocations, travel expenses, substantiations and more. Create and submit requisitions to various campus partners. Track all requisitions from inception to completion to ensure all work is complete.
  • Oversee general office maintenance and ensure office supplies are appropriately stocked; request departmental goods and services using PeopleSoft; maintain inventory lists and storage areas.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and supervise student workers; assign tasks and coordinate student coverage of the multiple front desks.
  • Serve as a liaison to other partner organizations (universitywide and external partners) working on initiatives with the Graduate School of Education and Psychology.
  • Train and supervise the Office Coordinator and oversee the GSEP lobby operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Preferred:
Experience in a not-for-profit and/or higher education setting. Strong leadership and management skills. At least two years of supervisory experience. Experience in developing and mentoring staff, fostering a positive work culture, and building high-performance teams.

This is a Regular, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range:
$66,560 - $70,000 per year

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
