***- Clinical Application Specialist's primary responsibility is to provide training and ensure clinical competency on the LENSAR Laser System to certify surgeons and system operators in accordance to regulatory approvals. The Clinical Application Specialist will be field based and will require frequent travel to provide this education. Training may be provided at the location of the system and/or in house as needed. The position requires that sites in regional territory are provided ongoing support and monitoring. Participation at LENSAR tradeshows, wet labs and events both on and off site will also be required
.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train and educate physicians, clinicians, technicians, as well as internal customers (Sales, Field Service and Distributors, etc.) on the proper technique and use of the LENSAR Laser System.
  • Maintain quarterly physician contact in person, via phone or remote technology in assigned sites to ensure proper system utilization and assist with outcome optimization, training updates and customer retention.
  • Ensure surgeons, laser technicians, and the patients' satisfaction of ease of surgical operation with LENSAR technology in assigned sites in an effort to improve procedure volume usage.
  • Provide regular communication in person, via phone or remote technology to field counterparts (Sales, Business Development and Field Service) as well as the Clinical App Management team.
  • Participation at LENSAR events, tradeshows, and wet labs both on and off site.
  • Responsible for understanding and satisfying the requirements for obtaining access to a client site (hospital, healthcare system, etc.).
  • Responsible for topographer trainings when applicable and ongoing support to ensure proficiency and use of device as well as assist in troubleshooting if needed.
  • Responsible for accurately completing paperwork along with online data entry for surgeon and laser operator trainings and certification.
  • Responsible for assisting in collection of pre and postoperative data as well as discussions of outcomes with customers. Customers include, but are not limited to, physicians, clinical support staff, ASC and hospital staff, physician's office staff, and others as directed by management.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / EDUCATION

  • Required:_
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in delivering training to medical and support staff.
  • Excellent communication, negotiating, organizational and customer relations skills.
  • Strong computer and time management skills.
  • The ability to travel through the U.S. is required at a minimum of 70% and outside the U.S. up to 25%.
  • Preferred:_
  • COA, COT, or CCOA certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences and/or experience in paramedical or working with the anterior segment of the eye.
  • Understanding of human eye anatomy, corneal topography and keratometry including optics and refraction.
