- Identifying and evaluating potential development sites through thorough market research and analysis, leveraging existing industry relationships.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to assess new opportunities, including analyzing market data, construction costs, and local regulations.
- Managing all aspects of the development process, from planning and design to construction and project leasing.
- Reviewing architectural and design plans to ensure quality and cost-efficiency.
- Creating investment packages for internal and external stakeholders, maintaining project budgets, and providing regular updates on project progress.
- Leading the selection and management of design professionals and contractors to meet project objectives.
- Overseeing cost estimates, value-engineering efforts, and contract negotiations to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Coordinating design elements to enhance project aesthetics and functionality.
- Conducting regular site visits, attending project meetings, and overseeing construction-related issues in collaboration with the construction team.
- Reviewing construction submittals and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Working closely with the Asset Management Team to execute branding, marketing, and leasing strategies, in addition to overseeing operational budgets and timelines.
- Providing regular reports on project status and market conditions, and facilitating a seamless transition to property management post-project completion.
- Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate. Higher education such as an MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in multifamily development with a comprehensive understanding of the development lifecycle.
- Background in land acquisition and/or architecture is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and project management software.
- A detail-oriented problem-solver with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of multifamily development processes and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities and foster key industry relationships.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with a focus on accountability and teamwork.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Self-motivated individual with a track record of integrity and professionalism.

Role
The Managing Director - Development will play a key role in driving the expansion of multifamily and senior housing projects in the Greater Houston, TX area.
