a General Accountant (Indirect Tax) at our manufacturing facility located in
Elkhart, Indiana_.

Position Summary:

Summary

Coordinates sales and use tax and property tax compliance company wide.
Essential

Responsibilities:

Multistate sales and use tax compliance, which will include reviewing invoices for use tax, tax returns and gathering data across multiple ERP's for monthly compliance requirements.
Ensure compliance with state and local sales and use tax laws and regulations.
Support operations on sales and use tax questions, including exemption certificate requests.
Coordinate property tax requests from third party firm preparing property filings.
Maintain and reconcile sales and use and property tax account balances. Prepare journal entries for these accounts during month end close process.
Resolve state and local tax notices through written or oral communication.
Facilitate sales and use and property tax audits, partnering with third party firm when necessary.
Maintain/create financial policies concerning state and local taxes.
Maintain financial security by following internal controls. Performs other tasks or duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Position requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting for Finance and at least 23 years work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Excel.
