Description

Market facing production underwriting role with expectations to develop knowledge and skills needed to appropriately evaluate the acceptability of risk for Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, Fiduciary and Crime Liability products, primarily for private and not-for-profit commercial industry classes.

Partners with brokers to manage a book of business, both new and renewal, which includes marketing activities to support relationship growth with targeted partner markets.

This is is a hybrid office role in the posted location


Responsibilities
Acquires the knowledge and skills required to perform the following duties:

  • Agent/

Broker Relationships:

Demonstrates a high level of responsiveness and focus on supporting Agents and Brokers objectives, while also operating within Liberty's internal framework and appetite for specific products and other guidelines.

Develops and maintains the relationship through responsive service, site visits, in person renewal meetings or knowledge of their customers businesses.


  • Portfolio Management: Manages a book of business by analyzing the portfolio, identifying areas of opportunity for improved growth, profit and diversification, and executing marketing plans to increase market share with preferred brokers.
  • Documenting the Deal: Documents files in a way that reflects a solid thought process and decision making through comprehensive account reviews, signoffs and referrals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participates in continuous improvement by fully engaging with team members, generating suggestions, following appropriate procedures and work principles, participating in problem solving activities, and using continuous improvement tools to support the work of the team.
  • Claims: Familiar with the full spectrum of activities, practices, tools, and considerations for handling claims. Understands basic principles, techniques and terminology of claims handling.
  • Project Management: Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Effective teamwork, relationship building; accuracy and attention to detail; negotiation; written and verbal communication
  • Ability to use multifaceted systems, organize time, manage work independently, analyze risks, and demonstrate decisiveness while making quality decisions
  • Skills and experience as normally acquired through Bachelor degree and 1 to 2 years of professional experience
