Founded in 1970, East Valley Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) whose services include providing personalized, affordable, high-quality medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health care through a community-based network within the East San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Communities.

MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
_


  • Creates the vision for the IT department. Then, creates the strategy that is needed to achieve the future end state.
  • Manages the daytoday operations of all IT functions, which includes hardware, software, and connectivity, across all clinic sites. Collaborate with MTS for oversight of hardware and connectivity functionality.
  • Proactively seeks out technology initiatives, looking for opportunities and researching ideas for feasibility. Engages in healthcare technology forums to stay uptodate, actively presenting opportunities to the COO for review and approval.
  • Finds and evaluates potential hardware/software/telecommunication/connectivity products for use in the organization. Determines requirements and communicates with key stakeholders, including MTS to assess appropriate fit for EVCHC's IT infrastructure.
  • Initiates the conversation on future software upgrades as appropriate or required, to improve operations, consistency, and budgetary success. Ensures the team coordinates software upgrades to include comprehensive testing, installation, and final configuration, in collaboration with MTS and key EVCHC team members. Ensures the team documents system configuration and maintains configuration integrity during system updates and/or changes.
  • Proactively researches automated mechanisms designed to effectively support the operation of the organization.
  • Accountable for the effective implementation of organizationwide training and inservices that maximize proper utilization of electronic health records systems (NextGen and Dentrix), software, and hardware.
  • Accountable for the delivery of highquality IT support through an established ticketing system.
  • Ensures that the team maintains an active inventory of all IT equipment and communicates across team members to ensure inventory is distributed and collected under EVCHC policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with MTS to determine required hardware upgrades, as needed for specialized IT projects or software requirements. Presents hardware upgrades to the COO for final approval.
  • Frequently tests for vulnerabilities as it relate to connectivity and software system failures, resulting in system downtime. Works collaboratively with MTS to minimize occurrences. Lead IT staff during system failures to maximize their effectiveness and minimize the failure's impact. Ensure timely and effective communication during and after system failures occur.
  • Works collaboratively with the COO, MTS, and other members of the Management Team to maximize utilization of available resources. Create and monitor departmental budget; authorizing expenditures under established guidelines.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, orientation, training, and evaluation of IT staff.
  • Oversee, deploy, and maintain uptodate IT policies.
  • Participates in meetings as assigned by the COO.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
_


  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Health Science, Computer Science, Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 57 years of progressive experience in Information Technology.
  • Minimum 4 years of management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure without extensive supervision.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, demonstrated leadership skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of NextGen and Dentrix electronic health records software is highly preferred.




DOE:
$107,964 - $123,565
