Overview:

The Academic Program Manger/Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Academic Mentoring Program (AMP).

Duties include managing the AMP staff and volunteers, daily academics and enrichment, student and management reporting, attendance reporting for academics and volunteers, student-volunteer matching and management, academic assessments, reading, writing and math supplementation, maintaining student case files/notes and managing student success plans together with the athletic team.

The position reports directly to the Program Manager.


Responsibilities as Academic Program Manager:


  • Assist with budget process for the department.
  • Contribute to the overall growth of the program, assist in building out the department and take on managerial responsibilities as additional staff join the department
  • Manage the Academic Program Monday-Thursday, within the program schedule of 2:006:00 PM
  • Manage all students while in academics, including volunteerstudent matching and group activities. This will include personally tutoring and mentoring students.
  • Weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting

Additional Program Responsibilities:

  • Attendance/data entry and answering phone
  • Rollout of Crossover Academy Pro, Junior, Hall of Fame
  • Assist with academic outcomes document and assessments for grant purposes
  • Communicate weekly academic and volunteer reports during staff meeting
  • Enforce proper student behavior during academics
  • Help manage new student registration as needed
  • Assist with driving/transportation in emergencies or the absence of drivers

Responsibilities as Volunteer Coordinator
Strengthen and maintain the Volunteer Program


Duties include:

  • Onboarding new volunteers
  • Managing volunteer relationships
  • Entering and maintaining volunteer data in SalesForce database
  • Manage volunteer schedules
  • Coordinate and lead recruiting events at local churches and community groups
  • Assist with volunteer marketing both print and electronic
  • Support volunteers with continuing professional development
Maintain the Center for Academics and Training (CAT) including decor, cleanliness, supplies and equipment

Coordinate efforts with the Independent Study Program and the College and Career Readiness program managers

Development of Program/Curriculum


Professional Qualifications:


  • The Academic Program Manager/Volunteer Coordinator must understand and embrace the mission of Crossover.
  • They must have strong organizational and social skills, be selfmotivated, have a strong work ethic with a professional and friendly demeanor, have the ability to multitask with limited guidance or supervision.
  • A degree in Education and ongoing certification is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with:
  • Youth and parents from an under-resourced population
  • Volunteers from all age groups and demographics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey a vision of Crossover Mission's strategic future to parents, volunteers and donors.
  • Strong technical ability.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires the ability to sit, stand and work in an office environment
  • Position requires the use of telephone and computer equipment
  • May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, with or without assistance
  • May require going up and down stairs

Pay:
From $45,000.00 per year
