Carlson Tool & Manufacturing is hiring a Quality Inspector to join our team onsite in Cedarburg, WI This position is responsible for verification of products manufactured in our machining facility to assure compliance with customer and company requirements.


We're looking for a quality-driven team player with experience in a CNC machining environment who is an excellent communicator and committed to continuous improvement.

This position collaborates with customers, sales, production, engineering, and shipping to maintain and improve the quality of products manufactured.

Starting pay ranges from $20 - $25/hr depending on experience, with generous perks and benefits including:

What you need to succeed:


  • 3+ years of related experience in a CNC machining environment is required.
  • Must be detailoriented with strong analytical skills to identify and solve quality issues.
  • Ability to properly setup and use measuring and test equipment in a machining environment, including programing and operating a coordinate measuring machine using PcDmis Software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information, drawings, and geometric dimensional tolerancing.
  • Strong computer background with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities include:


  • Follow and maintain quality procedures for systems used and products manufactured. Continuously improve quality practices and processes to enhance customer satisfaction, meet statutory and regulatory requirements, and reduce waste and rework.
  • Measure and test product to verify compliance to specified requirements using measuring tools, coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, hardness testers, etc.
  • Review and approve inspection documents for completeness and accuracy. Complete documentation packages for submittal in accordance with customer, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with and support appropriate groups to identify and address quality issues and concerns. As needed, assist in the resolution of customer complaints and required actions related to quality issues.
  • Follow control of nonconforming product procedures to ensure nonconforming products are identified, segregated, evaluated, and dispositioned properly. Report any quality issues or nonconformances to the Quality Team and other stake holders.
  • Use problemsolving tools, such as root cause analysis, to identify and eliminate the underlying causes of quality issues.
  • When needed, participate during internal and external audits, and assist with implementing corrective actions as necessary.
