    VOLUNTEER AS A COUNSELOR

    Walk-In is a community counseling center that provides free, easily accessible, crisis intervention and short-term personal counseling services to everyone who needs help.

    Services are provided by qualified volunteer mental health professionals in-person and by phone and internet.

    Counselors must have an advanced degree in psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy (or be a clinical student in a degree program).

    People working towards their clinical licensure are accepted as are those with clinical licensure.
    There is a formal application, screening and background check.

    Volunteers work in teams that are scheduled for a 4-hour time block either for an afternoon or an evening shift, typically scheduled every other week.

    Counselors are also expected to counsel 1 – 2 clients outside of regular clinic hours. We are located in Minneapolis near Chicago and 24th St. We have clinics on M, W, and F afternoons that are both in-person and virtual. Our M Th clinics are all virtual.
