    Lab Specialist - Machine Learning Intern

    We are looking for a dedicated individual to take charge of an interesting object detection problem and contribute toward developing a solution using experimental data. This individual will serve as a key player within our laboratory environment. Their main responsibilities will include:

    • Facilitating Data Collection: To collect unique data samples, the scene and camera will need constant manipulation based on heuristics and model-specific nuances.
    • Programming and Linux: To automate data collection, it may be necessary to create Python/bash scripts for data capture or pre-processing. Since the lab test bed is Linux-based, familiarity with Ubuntu or other Linux distributions will be essential.
    • Data Pipeline and Model Training: Categorizing and labeling the data gathered, and assisting in the subsequent model training/testing process. Use domain knowledge to collaborate with a team of Machine Learning Engineers to work on and develop an interesting Computer Vision application.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field, with courses or projects in Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Computer Vision
    • Knowledge of Python programming (familiarity with PyTorch preferred)
    • Comfortable with Linux (Ubuntu preferred)

    This is a paid internship position based in Pittsburgh, PA, with the potential to transition into a full-time role.
