Brian Jeon

I am a neuroscience researcher at Carnegie Mellon University.  I have studied how neurons in the brain encode visual information using statistical and machine learning methods. 

Postdoctoral research associate: Kuhlman Lab, Department of Biological Sciences, Carnegie Mellon University
(October 2021 – Current):
● Analyzing neuronal and behavioral data using machine learning and statistical methods.
● Developing analysis pipeline in Matlab and Python environment.
● Creating and organizing data structures for analysis.
● Designing experiments and analysis to investigate gaps in knowledge in neuroscience.
● Writing and publishing findings in academic journals.

Research Associate: Single Motor Unit Laboratory, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (June 2013 – July 2014):
● Principal Investigator/Advisor: William Z. Rymer, MD, PhD.
● Research topic: Long-term changes in motor unit physiology of stroke survivors assessed with
electromyography.
● Collecting and analyzing electromyogram data from human subjects.
● Developing and maintaining experimental systems in the lab.
