    POSITION TITLE: Commercial Lines Account Manager

    REPORTS TO: Commercial Lines Manager

    The Commercial Lines Account Manager accurately answers oral, written, and electronic routine

    inquiries of companies, clients and their representatives in a friendly and professional manner;

    maintains a computerized X-list, suspense system and client data base; prepares and processes

    renewals and amendments of existing clients; assists in writing new business and provides other

    supporting duties as needed or requested.

    Essential Functions:


    • Answers customer service calls and faxes in a positive and friendly manner.


    • Processes correspondence from clients and companies.


    • Maintains an X-list of all commercial policies.


    • Maintains a suspense system of pending items.


    • Prepares Accord and other forms for review and/or signature of underwriter

    and/or account producer.


    • Prepares quotes and proposals.


    • Prepares applications.


    • Processes policy change requests, presents for review and signature of

    underwriter and/or account producer, when necessary.


    • Prepares invoices and assists in collections.


    • Checks policies, amendments, endorsements, and rating upon receipt for

    accuracy, referring errors to underwriter and/or account producer. Prepares

    summary of coverages for client when necessary.


    • Maintains a neat and clean work station.

    Supporting Functions:


    • Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to appropriate person in a

    professional and friendly manner, taking and delivering messages when

    necessary.


    • Performs other tasks and duties as requested or required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


    • AA degree or Professional Insurance Designation.


    • Keyboard skills


    • Computerized agency management system or data base skills.


    • Understanding of ISO forms and terms.


    • Understanding of Accord forms.


    • At least five years Insurance Agency experience or equivalent.


    • Hold a current property and casualty insurance license.


    • Effective communication skills: ability to obtain information from others and

    deliver information to others either orally or written in a clear and accurate

    way.


    • Organizational skills.


    • Basic office practice skills including light typing, processing, posting,

    sorting and preparation of mail projects.


    • Math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole

    numbers and do simple calculations involving decimals, simple fractions and

    develop ratios.


    • Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions with multiple

    concrete variables; ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently.


    • Ability to perform 80% sedentary work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force

    occasionally and negligible force frequently or constantly to move objects

    including the human body. May be asked to exert up to 40 pounds of force

    periodically as needs arise.


    • Near vision clarity of 20 inches or less and mid-range vision of more than 20

    inches and less than 20 feet. Field of vision must be adequate to observe up

    and down or right and left while eyes are fixed on a given point.


    • Physical efforts required to minimally perform the position include fingering as

    a repetitive activity, grasping, talking to communicate detailed and important

    information to others accurately and quickly, stooping, reaching, standing, and

    lifting light objects under 20 pounds.

     Experience with Agency Management Systems

    Working Conditions:

    Fast-paced multiple tasking environment, high disruption environment.

    Hourly pay range: $ $43.97

    Starting salary may be reduced by up to $1.00 during introductory/evaluation period and/or for

    those not meeting all job qualifications as stated in this job description.
