We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing for Rehab Facility.
As the Director of Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care within our rehabilitation facility.
The Director of Nursing will oversee nursing operations, lead a team of compassionate nursing professionals, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote the well-being and recovery of our patients.
Job Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current, unrestricted license in the state of NY.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing, with a focus on rehabilitation or longterm care settings preferred.
- Strong clinical expertise and knowledge of rehabilitation nursing principles, practices, and standards of care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of nursing professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to nursing practice and rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for nursing services within the rehabilitation facility.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement among nursing staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development initiatives for nursing personnel.
- Patient Care and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing rehabilitation.
- Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote patient recovery and functional independence.
- Oversee infection control measures and compliance with safety protocols to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Staffing and Resource Management:
- Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and appropriate skill mix to meet patient care needs.
- Recruit, hire, and retain qualified nursing personnel, providing orientation and ongoing training as needed.
- Allocate resources efficiently and effectively, including budget oversight and inventory management of nursing supplies and equipment.
- Foster a supportive work environment that promotes staff morale, engagement, and professional satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing practice and rehabilitation services.
- Prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys and accreditation reviews, maintaining readiness and adherence to standards.
- Monitor and address any deficiencies or areas of noncompliance identified during audits or inspections, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and facilitate discharge planning.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and promote a culture of transparency and open communication.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance patient care outcomes.
