Perdiem Firefighter/EMS:
This position offers employment to Firefighter/EMS providers to work perdiem Firefighter/EMS or driver/operator shifts.

The schedule is flexible in that the employee can choose between regularly scheduled 24-hour shifts or 24 hours of weekend shifts monthly.

There is the ability to pick up additional open shifts throughout the week and weekends above and beyond your scheduled shifts.


Employees in good standing will receive an annual 1.25% step increase each year effective the first pay week after 7/1.

Employees are also eligible for an annual cost of living adjustment (COLA) based on the Employer Cost Index (ECI) for government employees.


Minimum requirements include:

HS diploma or GED equivalent; interior structural firefighter certification or equivalent; completion of State certified AVOC/EVOC course; EMT license - AEMT or higher required for Perdiem Advanced EMS Provider; able to work in a team environment; able to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends; hold a valid CPAT certification (within 1 year) or successful completion of a physical ability test (PAT), and post-offer comprehensive physical exams.

The Scarborough Town Hall is located at 259 U.S. Route 1, just south of the junction of Rt. 1 and Black Point Road/Gorham Road._
