Our client, a leading company in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Demand Planner to join their team in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

In this crucial role, you will be responsible for forecasting demand, managing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient production scheduling.

You will need a strong understanding of supply chain processes within the food manufacturing sector and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Forecasting:
Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts

Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and prevent stockouts

Production Scheduling:
Collaborate with production planners to create and adjust production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory targets

Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather input and align demand planning with business objectives

Data Analysis:
Utilize advanced analytical tools and software to track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and inventory management

Supply Chain Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

Communication:
Regularly communicate demand plans and forecasts to relevant stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure alignment and transparency

Risk Management:
Proactively identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuous product availability

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field.3+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in demand planning software and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
