Description

In this role, the incumbent will collaborate with CalRecycle's Executive team to stand up the Office of Circular Economy within CalRecycle.

The Office of Circular Economy will develop policies and strategies, including, utilizing a combination of financial instruments, to facilitate new and expanded infrastructure in California for recycling and manufacturing with recycled material.

The Deputy Director will direct and oversee a team of staff to strengthen and expand California's circular economy.

The incumbent will work directly with businesses, the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), and other State Agencies and stakeholders to find and realize opportunities to develop and deploy new technologies in recycling and remanufacturing in California.

The incumbent will foster and maintain relationships with industry business leaders and other stakeholders to guide the effective development of CalRecycle programs and meet our environmental, equity, and economic goals.


This position involves travel throughout the state approximately 20% of the time.
