    Job Responsibilities & Requirements

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Works with Benson Design Group to develop custom curtainwall system designs.
    • Produce & revise plans, elevations, sections & details for tendered.
    • Produce 3D models & renderings.
    • Attend design meetings with clients.
    • Perform preliminary structural and thermal checks of custom designs.
    • Occasionally produces fabrication and tag drawings, mainly for mock-ups and prototypes.
    • Review bid documents and specifications for design conformance.
    • Provide liaison with structural engineer and other specialty consultants.
    • Aides engineering staff in understanding design concepts for projects.
    • Coordinates with Sales and Estimating to provide pricing data.
    • Interfaces with suppliers & vendors to confirm feasibility of design.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
    • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
    • Attendance in the office during normal/hybrid business hours is required.
    SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    • Education: A minimum 2-year degree and/or related business experience and knowledge required.
    • Experience: At least 2 years work experience as a CAD Designer/Design Drafter in engineering, architecture, construction, or a related field.
    • Computer Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office. Experience in Revit, Navisworks, Rhinoceros, Inventor, and/or 3ds Max preferred.
    • Other Requirements:
      Ability to understand architectural and structural drawings. General knowledge of commercial building construction means and methods. Requires excellent communication skills to deal effectively with external clients, internal stakeholders, and Management.
