    Distributed Computer Systems Specialist - IT Trainer

    This position is responsible for providing information security and software training for all employees, contractors, volunteers, and students. Strong communication skills and software support experience are a must. This position is responsible for creating software training classes and conducting the training in person or via web conferencing. Skill with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams is necessary. This position provides technical support to staff on agency software and hardware.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Developing, coordinating, and providing classroom instruction to staff on information security, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Microsoft Office software, and various systems used by the agency.
    • Developing, posting and supporting computer-based training courses in the learning management system.
    • Creating, updating, and removing user accounts in the learning management system
    • Managing training plans for staff in the learning management system.
    • Developing user instruction manuals and videos on technical topics including agency systems and approved software.
    • Providing technical support to staff on agency approved software and hardware.
    • Extracting data from the learning management system and designing reports for local monitoring of staff training progress.
    Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
    • Skill with Microsoft 365 applications
    • Skill in designing on-line and in-person training classes
    • Skill in providing training in individual and group settings.
    • Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
    • Ability to accurately maintain training system for all staff.
    • Skill in operating a variety of data processing equipment.
    • Ability to interpret, detect, and respond to computer error messages and equipment malfunctions.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • 1-3 years of experience in computer software or hardware support
    • 1 year of experience providing training
    • Valid Driver's License
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    Other Desirable Qualifications:
    • 1 or more years of experience providing classroom instruction on computer software or hardware
    • 1 or more years of experience writing user instruction manuals on computer software or hardware
    • 1 or more years of experience with TRAIN learning management system
    • 1 or more years of experience with Health Management System (HMS)
    • Fluent in Spanish
