Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Underground Gas Distribution & Excavation Safety Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures related to underground gas distribution systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety excellence.

Scope of Work

• Inspections and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of underground gas distribution systems to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to evaluate potential hazards associated with underground gas distribution activities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
• Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees and contractors on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices for working with underground gas distribution systems.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents and accidents involving underground gas distribution systems to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant safety regulations and standards pertaining to underground gas distribution systems and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
• Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans for underground gas distribution incidents, including coordinating with emergency services and conducting drills to ensure preparedness.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training activities, and compliance documentation. Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.

Roles Requirements

• 10+ years experience as a lineman or 5 years with an electrical/gas distribution company
• Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related; highly preferred
• Licenses/Certifications

CSP, CUSP, OSHT, CHS

• Exemplary communication skills and value a team environment
• Must be fluent in Spanish
