JOB SUMMARY The Utility Operator provides support primarily to the DT and CNC departments by assisting each operator with various indirect labor activities associated with operating machines. Responsible for indirect labor activities currently performed by the machine operators to allow them to focus their time on operating machines and producing products. Supports Maintenance with several machine-related preventive maintenance activities.
Ensures work is performed ethically while achieving the objectives stated in the Company Quality Policy. Ensures work is completed efficiently and properly while practicing safety policies and procedures. Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Chip recycling. Remove oil-soaked chips from machines and spin chips to remove oil. Return oil to the machine and dump chips in recycle bins.

  • Manage raw material. Ensure DT machines are loaded with material and adequate material was released for each work order.
  • Maintain accurate and timely part counts. Assist operators in daily parts counts via weigh counting.
  • Nonmechanical preventive maintenance schedule adherence. Assist maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance activities such as sump purge/cleaning.
Transfer completed work orders. Move completed work orders to inspection and/or the next operation.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area with particular focus on the floors surrounding all DT and CNC machines and chip bins. Ensure floors and equipment are clean and dry, and all machines and equipment are free from any hazards.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to department expectations. Meet/exceed department performance expectations such as throughput, productivity, quality, and safety.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
No educational requirements but highly preferred.


EXPERIENCE Employee will be trained on-site.

Pay:
$ $20.00 per hour
