    Job Summary:
    The Department of Counseling at Lamar University is seeking applications for a tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor in Counselor Education with expertise in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling. The successful candidate will teach online graduate classes. In addition to teaching, the candidates will maintain an active research and publication agenda; assist in the coordination of the counseling programs; supervise and advise master's level students; and fulfill service responsibilities to the department, college, university, and counseling profession. Candidates will be expected to work in collaboration with other colleagues in the College of Education and Human Development as well as with our community partners. Candidates must also be able to relocate to the Beaumont or surrounding area to participate and maintain campus presence.

    Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
    • An earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a regionally accredited institution
    • Professional identity as a counselor educator with an emphasis in marriage couples and family counseling
    • Commitment to the professional field of Marriage Couples and Family Counseling, counselor education as evidenced by education, teaching, research, and professional affiliations, such as ACA, ACES, AMHCA, IAMFC, and AAMFT
    • Minimum of two years of experience teaching graduate level courses.
    • Ability to create and implement an active research agenda in marriage, couples and family counseling or counselor education.
    • Experience in community agencies or marriage and family counseling settings


    Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience)
    • Licensed as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and or LPC
    • Experience in online education is preferred
