    About This Role:


    The Department of Psychology at Lamar University invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning Fall of 2024.

    Successful candidates will be expected to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level (e.g., general psychology, lifespan development) and master's level (e.g., courses in psychotherapy, assessment, abnormal psychology), develop and teach courses within the candidate's area of specialization, mentor undergraduate and graduate student research, serve on graduate student thesis committees, provide clinical supervision to master's level students, and actively engage in service to the department, college, and university.

    This position does not require an active program of research and is a non-tenure granting position. Promotion to Clinical Associate Professor and Clinical Professor is based on teaching, service, and clinical responsibilities.

    What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities


    • Teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate- (e.g., general psychology, lifespan development) and master's-level (e.g., courses in psychotherapy, assessment, abnormal psychology),
    • Develop and teach courses within their area of specialization,
    • Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research,

    Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)

    What You'll Need to Succeed - Minimum Qualifications:

    • This position requires a minimum of a PhD (or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program, licensure as a psychologist, and Texas licensed or license eligible. ABD applicants will be considered; however, the applicant must have earned their doctorate prior to August 2024.
