About us

Eye Level of Torrance is a dynamic after school enrichment learning center seeking experienced Math and/or English instructor to tutor students from 4 to 16 years old.

All teaching materials and instructor training and certification are provided.

The instructor will work with students on an individual or small group setting, and must be flexible with changes in setting and time.

The instructor will be given a curriculum and teaching materials, and through provided instructor training and certification, is responsible for assessing the students' progress, assigning appropriate study materials, and guiding students through new concepts.

This is a part/full-time, year-round position.


Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate academic coaching to students according to the Center policy
• Plan projected student progress and prepare appropriate learning materials
• Motivate and encourage students (incentives, certificates, etc.)
• Discuss with parents regarding students' progress after every session or end of business day
• Student checkin/out assistance
• Observe students' learning habits and provide catered instruction

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma; Education preferred
• Math competency of at least
  Algebra I:
• English competency of grammar, composition, language arts, etc.
• Eagerness to learn and be trained
• Excellent communication skills with adults and children
• Sense of responsibility
• Patience, enthusiasm, willingness to work with children
• Hours can be discussed at the interview (minimum of 6 hours/week)

$ $25.00 per hour
