- Coordinates and facilitates the implementation of academic interventions aligned to the standard treatment protocol for students in need of support towards meeting course standards.
- Collaborates with school staff, using data to identify students for supplemental or intensive intervention support.
- Delivers research-based strategies and techniques to support students individually or in small groups.
- Builds capacity by assisting teachers and instructional staff in addressing student learning using the MTSS framework; provides guidance on strategies, tools, and techniques to effectively teach all students.
- Develops, documents, and maintains ongoing intervention plans in the intervention management system.
- Maintains progress monitoring data on how students are responding to intervention plans, adjustments as needed.
- Communicates with families regarding student progress and providing strategies families can use at home.
- Participates in relevant team and student meetings.
- Monitors the overall effectiveness of each academic intervention, collaborating with school leaders to address implementation fidelity and other barriers to success.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge and experience with MTSS framework
- Knowledge of current research on academic interventions
- Ability to analyze data and use data to drive decision-making
- Knowledge of "whole child" philosophy of service delivery and problem solving
- Knowledge and appreciation of diversity by recognizing and respecting the worth and dignity of all students, staff and families recognizing their individual social, cultural and economic differences
- Knowledgeable of literacy and math foundational skills, progress monitoring, best practices and strategies
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with an understanding of the adverse affect on students, parents and CMS when it is broken.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt well to change
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Expertise in the use of Google Drive and the Microsoft Office suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Three years of experience in a K-12 classroom teaching literacy and/or math
- Demonstrated instructional effectiveness (progress towards student outcomes)
- Technology proficiency and knowledge of digital learning may be required for certain assignments
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
- Active NC teaching license or eligible for NC DPI licensure
- Master's degree in Education
- Five years experience in a K-12 classroom

Description
JOB GOAL
Provides direct intervention and progress monitoring for students who need support in literacy and math. Assists with the implementation of a systematic school-wide approach to tiered intervention within a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). Activities may include coordinating classroom intervention programs, providing curriculum and instructional support to teachers including effective intervention strategies, and implementing specialized services to meet the needs of students.
