Description
Our client, a leading supplier of industrial automation products, is looking to add a Product Engineer to their team.In this position, the product engineer will collaborate closely with the Product Manager to effectively manage and expand the product line.
They will serve as the product subject matter expert and engage with suppliers to oversee all technical facets of product development, evaluation, new product introduction, and ongoing support throughout the product life cycle.
In this position, the Product Engineer will collaborate and work closely with both internal and external teams.Responsibilities
Utilize your expertise and in-depth product knowledge to assist in the development of the best products to expand the product line and meet the customer's requirements.
Take ownership of products throughout their entire life cycleEvaluation and testing of new products and technologies.
Provide support during new product introductions, documentation, training, and second-tier backline support.
Drive life-cycle projects aimed at enhancing product quality and reducing production costs.
Supplier evaluation, considering factors such as product offerings, technology roadmaps, support capabilities, product packaging, and barcoded labels.
Qualifications
Possess a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in industrial control and automation.
Preferred experience includes a background as a control engineer, product application, control system integration, technical support, and/or product design involving power/circuit protection or motor controls.
Building automation and medical equipment experience may also be considered.Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering OR at least 10 years of related experience.
Proficiency with CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks is highly desirable.
Familiarity with UL508A or NEC and/or previous experience with agency approvals is desired.
Aptitude for selecting or designing industrial control products, such as industrial contactors, starters, circuit breakers, and fuses is highly desired.
