Summary


The Bookkeeping Supervisor is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for leading and nurturing a cohesive team while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our client's financial records.

This position places a strong emphasis on cultivating a positive team environment, driving collaboration, and fostering professional growth.

In this role, you will be instrumental in streamlining processes, managing new client onboarding, and providing valuable insights to drive informed decision-making.

The Bookkeeping Supervisor is crucial to the success of our organization and will collaborate with the entire team to ensure that the overall goals of the organization are achieved.


Essential Functions

  • Supervise and mentor a team of bookkeepers, providing guidance, training and development, and performance feedback, including annual performance assessments and 30/60/120/6Mo feedback for new team members
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring workload is evenly distributed, deadlines are met and work is performed timely and efficiently
  • Foster a culture of open communication, mutual respect, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Responsible for leading and actively participating in the recruitment and hiring process for the members of the bookkeeping team
  • Act as a liaison between bookkeeping staff and management, ensuring the team's needs and concerns are addressed
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and efficiency improvements within the organization to optimize existing procedures; collaborate with management to ensure that best practices are established and maintained
  • Manage client onboarding process by building a project plan, maintaining project progress, coordinating with clients to obtain information and answers to questions, facilitating seamless integration into the company's standard bookkeeping procedures, converting bookkeeping to a monthly process, and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Responsible for managing bookkeeping deadlines, as well as corresponding with clients, vendors or third parties to successfully resolve concerns or issues
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including bookkeepers and management to ensure accurate flow of financial information.
  • Take on a versatile role, handling a wide range of tasks to actively contribute to the company's growth
  • Complete common and advanced bookkeeping tasks which include, but not limited to, processing payroll, paying bills, entering financial transactions, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, invoicing, collections, organizing client records, balance sheet management
  • Must be able to work independently with limited support from management team, multitask and handle a variety of responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and financial records
  • Must have indepth knowledge of firm products and services, including flat rate billing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field or five years' experience in bookkeeping
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks or QBO
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports such as balance sheet and income statement
  • Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook at a minimum), accounting software, dashboards, databases, QuickBooks, etc.
  • Experience managing a paperless environment
  • Strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding skills
  • Team player with a positive "cando" approach
  • Organized, detail oriented, efficient and thorough
  • Demonstrated history of success and client satisfaction
  • Strong and innovative leadership and project management skills, including the ability to mentor other team members
