Description
Position DescriptionSeeking an experienced Avionics Communications Engineer who has expertise in developing and integrating Communications and Datalink Systems into military aviation platforms.
This position will serve as a communications engineer supporting multiple platforms in the development, integration, and fielding of complex Radio, SATCOM, and RF Datalink systems across the Naval Aviation Enterprise throughout the system lifecycle.
Areas of Expertise should include Link Budgets, Antenna Theory, Waveform Characteristics, Error Correction Techniques, Spectrum, Co-site Analysis, Standards and Specifications, Satellite Communication, Line-of-Sight & Beyond Line of Sight links, Free Space Optical links, Software Defined Radios, RF/Microwave passive and active components and general electronics engineering and communications systems principles.
4-7 YearsPosition Duties/Responsibilities
The individual may serve as a Subject Matter Expert for communications and data link capabilities in local, joint, fleet, industry standards bodies.
This includes interacting or collaborating with DoD enterprise stakeholders, coordinating cooperative program planning and prototyping efforts with other Naval Warfare Centers and DoD/intelligence agencies, and executing basic and applied research.
The individual will also establish modeling/simulation and organic lab capabilities in support of current and future customer requirements. Additionally, this individual will identify, develop, and conduct technical training across the organization.
