Job Summary:


The Ophthalmic Tester is able to handle a wide range of duties while using equipment to perform the initial testing needed to prepare a patient for an exam.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Complete all the testing for OCT, anterior segment photography, Visual Field, Fundus photography
  • Upload any results of imaging and testing
  • Scanning documents, prior authorizations, other paperwork into patients' chart
  • Verifying letters (Diabetes, Plaquenil, Referral, etc.) have been sent to appropriate Doctor from previous day, and if not sending the letter
  • Calling for labs (Quest) when needed when scribe is unavailable
  • Recalls inbetween patients and downtime
  • Interact with all patients using a high level of respect and professionalism
  • Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information

Requirements:


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with patients and employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and function well in a highpaced and at times stressful environment

Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Healthcare experience preferred

Physical Requirements:


  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling up to 10 pounds.
  • Travel to other offices as needed
