- This position primarily will serve as counsel to agencies and authorities within the Transportation Secretariat to assist their day-to-day operations and achievement of agency goals.
- The attorney's work will support complex transportation-related initiatives and projects and will involve novel challenges and unique issues facing transportation agencies as they maintain, operate, and grow the Commonwealth's multi-modal infrastructure network and support its users.
- A significant portion of the work will support the Department of Transportation. Legal work includes issues arising out of construction and non-construction procurements, general operations, employment issues, project and services contracting, and environmental and sustainability activities.
- Procurement-related work includes advising on public procurements, including bidding, solicitations, contract development, and related protests and disputes.
- Additional areas of representation include litigation support, FOIA, COIA, fiscal and regulatory reviews, grants, and utility issues.
- As with all positions, other duties as necessary or appropriate may also be assigned. Some overnight travel may be required.
- Attorneys must have a minimum of three (3) years' legal practice experience; however, we will consider well- qualified applicants who have fewer years in practice.
- Demonstrated excellence in the skills of legal research, analysis, and writing.
- Experience advising public entities is preferred but not required.
- Transportation related projects or experience is desirable but not required.
- Procurement and/or IT contracting experience is desirable but not required.
