We are seeking a Food Service Director for a skilled nursing facility in Philadelphia, PA.


Food Service Director Summary
Oversees kitchen operations while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment for food and beverage staff. Prepares or directs the preparation of meals by corporate programs and guidelines.


Food Service Director Compensation:
$70,000-$80,000 annually (salary is based of experience level)


Food Service Director Responsibilities

  • Focus on Budget Containment, Regulatory Compliance & Customer Satisfaction
  • Oversee and train food service directors, cooks, and dietary staff.
  • Implement all ECC "Best Practices"
  • Train Managers on how to reach budgetary goals (Food, Nonfood & Labor
  • Conduct meetings (weekly, quarterly, annually, etc.) with all the Dietary Managers to train and communicate company standards.
  • Educate Managers on new and current regulatory issues
  • Train and inservice managers on new dining programs
  • Train facility team members how to conduct and implement Resident Satisfaction Surveys
  • Complete Annual QA's and participate in Mock Surveys before their annual surveys.
  • Assist in the final phase of selecting new Dietary Managers
  • Oversee and distribute menu preparation assignments.
  • Perform audits including labeling, dating, and sanitation rounds
  • Demonstrate and ensure accurate and appealing plating of food
  • Audit tray line for accuracy
  • Determines quality and quantity of food required; plans menus and controls food costs; may be scheduled to prepare meals.
  • Oversees the food preparation and cooking, to ensure meals are prepared per company procedures.
  • Makes frequent inspections of all work, storage, and serving areas to determine that regulations governing food safety and sanitation are followed
  • Maintains inventory of food and nonfood items.

Food Service Director Education

  • Serve Safe
  • CFM 6 months required (CDM Preferred)
  • 5 years' experience in a FSD position
