Minimum qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data, and managing multiple crossfunctional programs or projects.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with R, SQL, spreadsheets, or similar analytics tools.
  • Experience identifying opportunities for business or product improvement through data, and defining and measuring the success of those improvements.
  • Experience operating in ambiguous, fastpaced environments and making decisions with imperfect information.
  • Experience working with gaming or subscription products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications.

Googlers working on Google Play's gaming vertical do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships with games developers.


With a combination of problem solving skills and keen commercial acumen, the Play Games Strategy and Operations team provides the insights and operational aptitude that enables Play to delight users, empower developers and create value for Google.

As strategic advisors, we collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and other teams in support of gaming products including Play Points and Play Pass.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web.

As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships.

They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop.

The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$207,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities:


  • Deliver product and business insights. Run indepth of analysis of internal and external data to generate insights into our users, market, and competition, then synthesize implications and recommendations for leadership to inform product strategy.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness. Ensure the crossfunctional team works efficiently and as nimbly as possible towards its commercial objectives by designing robust tools and processes. Support development and tracking of key success metrics with crossfunctional leadership to enable effective managerial decisionmaking and turn ideas into plans using data.
  • Enable planning and strategic initiatives. Assist Play Game's business leadership through planning, strategy, marketing, and execution. Translate adhoc initiatives into action with product and crossfunctional leadership.
