Description

Position Purpose:

This position is responsible to perform the duties necessary to ensure that the building is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.


Educational Requirements:
High school graduate or GED required.


Experience Required:
None


Physical Requirements:

While preforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands and arms to handle items, lift, feel, and reach.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance on a step ladder or ladder.

- workers, physicians, and other employees.


Essential Functions

  • Must be able to work cooperatively as a team
  • Keeps confidential all patient/employee information received
  • Cleans and services resident rooms, bathrooms, utility rooms, hallways, dining areas, common areas, and office areas as assigned including, but not limited to:
  • Dust mopping, sweeping, and wet mopping
  • Vacuuming carpeted areas
  • Dusting furniture and fixtures
  • Cleaning and sanitizing sinks, bathroom fixtures, closets and drawers etc.
  • Emptying trash receptacles
  • Spot clean walls
  • Washing windows
  • Stocking facility with soap, paper towels, trash bags etc.
  • Cleans and services resident rooms and common areas according to the Room of the Day schedule/policy and other cleaning policies and procedures.
  • Monitors drapes and curtains for cleanliness and Reports any needs.
  • Maintains housekeeping closets in clean, orderly condition
  • Maintains the assigned housekeeping cart in good order and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Reports any malfunctioning equipment as soon as identified
  • Reports any maintenance concerns identified
  • Uses supplies as directed and in the appropriate quantity
  • Adheres to the facility policies and procedures
  • Other duties as determined by the Environmental Services Director.
  • Adheres to rules of attendance as outlined and received on orientation to the facility.
  • Reports for their assigned shift in a timely fashion.
  • Adheres to the facility dress code.

Staff Development Functions

  • Attends departmental meetings as scheduled to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services
  • Attends and participates in scheduled training and educational classes.
  • Attends and completes all mandatory inservice programs.

Safety and Infection Control

  • Follows established protocol during fire drills and disaster training.
  • Follows established universal precautions and infection control policies and procedures when performing daily tasks.
  • Ensures that all work and resident care areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Resident Rights

  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
  • Knowledge of facility and state mandatory reporting practices regarding any suspected cases of abuse, mistreatment, or neglect
  • Report all grievances/complaints made by the resident to your supervisor immediately.
  • Ensures that all residents are treated fairly with kindness, dignity, and respect.
