Winter & Spring Fitness Center Supervisor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe environment for students by circulating the fitness center floor.
  • Provide instructions on proper exercise equipment use and techniques.
  • Be able to identify participant exercise risk and concern.
  • Keep the fitness center clean through the utilization of a checklist and find extra tasks to complete when checklist is finished.
  • Make sure all weights and equipment are in the proper areas.
  • Inspect equipment and report any unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
  • Communicates effectively with Athletic Director.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled staff and team meetings.
  • The Fitness Center Supervisor reports to the Athletic Director.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must be knowledgeable about fitness techniques as well as how to properly use exercise equipment.
  • Must be teamoriented, handson, and passionate about exercise and fitness.

Pre-Employment Requirements:


  • Completion of the following three clearances: PA State Police Background Check, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting Background Check.
  • Completion of PIAA safety and compliance trainings.

  • The individual must demonstrate the ability to communicate, organize and analyze complex and diverse information and use same to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • The individual must pursue training and development opportunities in order to continuously build knowledge and skills. Must be willing to share expertise with others.
  • The individual must be able to manage difficult customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs. The maintenance of confidentiality is essential.
  • The individual must be able to read, understand written and verbal instructions, speak and write clearly in order to communicate effectively. Must be able to demonstrate grouppresentation skills.
  • The individual must display openness to others' views, must be able to balance team and individual responsibilities. Must contribute to building positive team spirit by supporting everyone's efforts to succeed.
  • The individual must show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences and work toward promoting a harassment free environment and diverse workforce. The individual must treat everyone with respect, work with integrity and uphold and support Southeast Delco School District's values and goals.
  • The individual must follow all District policies and procedures.
  • The individual must be able to prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently. He or she must react well under pressure and accept responsibilities for his/her own actions. The individual must respond to management direction.
  • The individual must be punctual at all times and ensure that work responsibilities are covered in his/her absence. Must complete tasks correctly and on time.

Safety Regulations:


  • Must report all student concerns, injuries, and incidents to the Athletic Department immediately. Anyone who knows of any action, inaction, or misconduct are required to file a report with the Athletic Department and shall report such misconduct to his or her school administrator.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Supervise any potential volunteers.

Working Conditions:


  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position requires the incumbent to work indoors.

Compensation:


  • 30 units for the completion of the winter and spring periods. 1 Unit = $96.00.
    This position is evaluated on a yearly basis.
