Summary/Objective

As a Residential Decarbonization Consultant with Abode, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments, collaborating with homeowners to develop decarbonization plans, and assisting in plan implementation. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a background in building science and residential energy efficiency to play a key role in scaling programs aimed at combating climate change through electrification.

Responsibilities

Conduct decarbonization assessments of single and multiple family homes

The Residential Decarbonization Consultant will follow protocols developed by Abode to conduct comprehensive on-site assessments that combine elements of traditional home energy audits with electrification and decarbonization opportunities tailored to meet homeowner's goals.

Provide assistance to homeowners in implementing decarbonization solutions

You will offer educational and technical support to homeowners, aiding them in implementing solutions identified in the action plan. This may involve additional evaluations, contractor recommendations, and guidance on accessing financial incentives.

Help develop and improve utility scale decarbonization programs
Other tasks as assigned by your Manager

Abode is actively expanding programs focused on accelerating the adoption of electrification and decarbonization solutions. The role of Residential Decarbonization Consultant is expected to evolve over time to encompass new responsibilities as programs develop.

Qualifications

Strong technical expertise in residential building science and energy efficiency, demonstrated through relevant education or certifications
Previous experience in building science or related fields, preferably in utility energy efficiency programs or home improvement
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to residential customers
Familiarity with government or utility incentive programs
Proficiency in software tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and energy modeling tools
Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Self-starter with excellent time management skills

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a starting salary ranging from $80K to $90K, depending on experience. The role involves a mix of remote work and client visits, with occasional meetings in Abode's Concord MA office. Employees receive a competitive benefits package.
